About MedixGPT

AI-powered medical education for the next generation of healthcare professionals

Our Mission

Democratizing medical education through artificial intelligence

Medical knowledge has never been more accessible — or more overwhelming. Every year, thousands of MBBS graduates, postgraduate residents, and nursing students across India face a steep challenge: vast syllabi, limited mentorship, and outdated resources that do not keep pace with rapidly evolving clinical evidence.

MedixGPT was built to change that. We combine the reasoning power of large language models with a curated, evidence-aligned knowledge base to give every medical learner — regardless of their institution or geography — access to an intelligent, always-available study partner. Our goal is not to replace teachers, textbooks, or clinical mentors. It is to make high-quality medical education scalable, interactive, and genuinely useful to the millions of healthcare professionals India trains every year.

Platform Features

A complete toolkit for medical learning

MedixGPT is not a single-purpose tool. We have built a suite of interconnected features designed to cover the full breadth of medical education — from first-year anatomy to postgraduate clinical reasoning.

Multi-Model AI Chat

Ask questions across all medical specialties and get detailed, evidence-referenced answers from multiple state-of-the-art language models. Switch between models to compare explanations or find the depth that suits your current level of study.

DICOM Medical Image Viewer

Upload DICOM files from CT scans, MRI, X-ray, and ultrasound studies. Our Cornerstone.js-powered viewer lets you pan, zoom, and adjust window levels, while the AI layer provides educational annotations and guided interpretation practice.

Clinical Case Simulations

Work through realistic, multi-step clinical scenarios that mirror the structured approach to patient assessment. Cases span medicine, surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics, and psychiatry, with adaptive feedback at each decision point.

RAG Knowledge Base

Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) grounds every AI response in a curated corpus of medical textbooks, NMC-approved guidelines, ICMR advisories, and WHO publications — so answers cite sources rather than hallucinate them.

Drug Reference Tools

Look up drugs by name, class, or indication. Each entry covers mechanism of action, dosage regimens, contraindications, adverse effects, and drug interactions — aligned with the Indian National Formulary (INF) and standard pharmacology texts.

Differential Diagnosis Practice

Train your clinical reasoning by building differential diagnoses for presenting symptoms. The AI guides you through the VINDICATE and SOCRATES frameworks, helping you think systematically rather than pattern-match superficially.

Built for India, Useful Globally

Aligned with Indian medical education standards

India produces more than 100,000 MBBS graduates annually and is the second-largest source of international physicians globally. Yet the tools available to Indian medical students have lagged behind the global standard. MedixGPT is built from the ground up for the Indian context, while remaining fully useful to learners worldwide.

NEET PG and NEXT exam preparation: Question framing, clinical vignettes, and pharmacology references are calibrated to the NEET PG and the forthcoming National Exit Test (NEXT) syllabus, including recent pattern changes introduced by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

NMC guidelines and Indian clinical practice: Treatment protocols, investigation choices, and drug dosages reflect Indian clinical practice guidelines rather than defaulting exclusively to US or European standards. This matters because drug availability, resistance patterns, and epidemiology differ significantly in the Indian context.

Indian National Formulary references: The drug reference module draws on the INF alongside the British National Formulary (BNF) and standard Indian pharmacology texts (Tripathi, KD Tripathi). Essential medicine lists from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare are incorporated to reflect real-world prescribing contexts.

Tropical and public health medicine: Case simulations and knowledge base content give prominent coverage to conditions prevalent in India and the wider South Asian and African contexts — malaria, tuberculosis, dengue, leptospirosis, and vaccine-preventable diseases — alongside standard international curricula.

Who It Is For

Designed for every stage of medical learning

Whether you are an MBBS student encountering biochemistry pathways for the first time, a resident preparing for a postgraduate entrance exam, or a practising nurse seeking a quick drug reference, MedixGPT is calibrated to your needs.

MBBS Students

Phase I through Final Year — anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and clinical postings

Postgraduate Residents

MD, MS, DNB — specialty-specific depth, clinical reasoning, and exam preparation

Nursing Students

GNM and B.Sc Nursing — pharmacology, procedures, anatomy, and patient education

Allied Health Professionals

Physiotherapy, radiology technologists, paramedics, and other healthcare workers

Medical Educators

Faculty preparing case-based learning materials, MCQs, and clinical vignettes

Health-Literate Public

Individuals seeking accurate, plain-language explanations of medical concepts — not clinical advice

Our Technology

Modern infrastructure, evidence-based approach

MedixGPT is built on the same foundational technology used in enterprise-grade AI applications, adapted specifically for the demands of medical education — where accuracy and citation matter enormously.

  • Multiple AI models: We route queries through OpenRouter, giving users access to frontier models from Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, and Meta — enabling comparisons and redundancy when one model is less reliable for a specific domain.
  • Retrieval-augmented generation: AI responses are grounded by real-time retrieval from a curated medical corpus, reducing hallucination and improving citation quality. Sources are surfaced inline so learners can follow up with primary texts.
  • DICOM and medical imaging: The imaging module is built on Cornerstone.js — the same open-source foundation used in many clinical PACS viewers — ensuring standard-compliant rendering of DICOM files without plugin dependencies.
  • Safety classification layer: Every query passes through an automated safety classifier that identifies queries suggestive of real-patient scenarios. Such queries trigger a prominent disclaimer and are handled conservatively to protect users from over-relying on AI-generated output.
  • Privacy-first design: We do not process real patient data. DICOM uploads include an automated anonymisation step, and the platform is not designed or certified as a HIPAA-covered entity. User data is governed by the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) 2023.

The Team

Medical professionals and engineers, together

MedixGPT is built by a small, focused team at the intersection of medicine and software engineering. We are not a large corporation trying to enter healthcare — we are practitioners and builders who experienced the gap in medical education resources firsthand and decided to do something about it.

The medical content team is led by clinicians and educators with backgrounds in internal medicine, pharmacology, and postgraduate medical training. Every feature that touches clinical content — drug information, case simulations, guideline summaries — is reviewed against authoritative sources before release. The engineering team brings experience in large-scale web applications, AI system integration, and secure data handling.

We are a lean team and we take full responsibility for what we build. If you find an error in our content, a misleading response, or a feature that could be improved, we want to hear from you directly. Medical education is too important for “good enough.”

What We Stand For

Principles that guide every decision

Accuracy over engagement

We do not optimize for time-on-platform or session length. We optimize for the quality and reliability of what learners take away. If a question is beyond the current reliable capability of the AI, we say so — clearly and without hedging.

Transparency about limitations

Large language models make mistakes. They can confidently describe a drug dose that is incorrect, a guideline that has been superseded, or a clinical finding that does not match the image. We are transparent about these limitations and build safeguards to surface uncertainty rather than hide it.

Accessibility and affordability

Premium medical education resources — question banks, reference tools, guided case libraries — are expensive and often inaccessible to students in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. We offer a meaningful free tier and price our premium plans with the Indian student in mind, not Western purchasing power.

Responsible AI in healthcare education

We take seriously the responsibility of building AI tools in the medical domain. Every major feature goes through a review for potential misuse, safety edge cases, and accuracy against authoritative sources before it reaches users. This is not a standard social app where a bug means a lost post — errors in medical content carry real consequences.
